Vivian Paige is ONE!

7.3.2015
Our baby is ONE!!

Viv this month
18lbs, 28in
12mo clothes, but can still wear 6 and 9 month tops… she gets it from he momma :/
Still an awesome sleeper! 12-13 hour nights and 2, 2 hour naps
She has 5 teeth! The bottom 2 came in last month, and then the top 3 came in together this month
She's has always been very independent, but I'm really starting to notice it now. It's very fitting that she was born the day before the 4th of July... she's an independent little firecracker!
We are no longer nursing…. Quitting hurt me more than her. We’ve transitioned to whole milk/almond milk. I was VERY sad to pour the last bit of pumped milk...

And Viv had a rough day that first morning of no nursing after waking, so we substituted with a carpet picnic and Sesame Sreet. It has become a morning tradition...

Milestones
She will stand all day and take ONE step, but no more! She’d rather crawl to get places. I can’t blame her…. She’s FAST
She squats a million times a day… her little booty is going to be ridiculous!
She can transition from standing to sitting/sitting to standing, twist, turn, climb up and down, and hold and use items while standing and transitioning.
She babbles all day, but has not called anything by name.
Waving… but you really have to earn it
She has mastered throwing temper tantrums... she throws herself on the ground, cries, looks up at me and gives the pouty face... I just walk away and she stops. We'll see how long that lasts :/

Likes
Music and dancing! She will stop and dance to anything that even resembles music!
Playing with/ripping/eating paper
Water bottles
Taking everything out of my purse and then putting it back in
She loves collecting and carrying things around, and then putting them back where they belong... she might have a little of mom's OCD
Opening and closing doors
Climbing in and out of her push car
Emptying cabinets
Unfolding clothes
Sesame Street, especially Elmo
Bath time
Giving (BIG) kisses
Siri
Dogs
Food: carbs, puffs, watermelon, blueberries, cheese, pizza (she went psycho over a piece of pizza), peas

Dislikes
Swim lessons
Diaper changes

This has been an eventful month!

We started ISR swim lessons. They teach her to flip to her back and float if she ever falls into water. They are very gentle with her (it’s not the sink or swim type lessons), but she is not a fan. She hates being on her back, BUT she’s doing an awesome job and already floating on her own for several minutes at a time. We have a few more weeks of lessons left, so pray for less tears and resistance.

UPDATE: Viv graduated from ISR at the end of August and can now float on her back, and bring herself safely to the surface if she falls in. SO PROUD!

We had to stop going to Kindermusik over the summer because they didn’t offer a time that fits our schedule, so we started her at Little Gym! To say she LOVES that place is an understatement! She has so much fun learning, playing and exploring!
She gets SO excited and hates to leave. It makes me so proud…. She’s going to be a little gymnast like her momma ;).

Viv had her friend Sawyer over for a whole day while Adam was on a TDY to Wisconsin... what was I thinking? but really, we had fun!! Adam was hoping it would deter my baby fever. No such luck!

Father's Day. A trip to Lowe's after brunch

The biggest event of all….. Our baby turned ONE!!! I was an emotional wreck that entire week. I’d like to apologize to anyone who had to help mop up my tears… it was a little ridiculous. It’s so hard to believe that a year has passed, but it has been the best year of our lives! Vivian is such a sweet (and sassy), independent, fearless, and loveable little TODDLER!??  We started off her birthday month with a visit from my family (mom, sister, Meme & Pop, aunt, uncle and cousins… dad couldn’t come because he was with our other grandmother). On the day of Viv's birthday, we all woke her with balloons and the birthday song… she didn’t know what to think. We went shopping and then had a yummy dinner. The day after her birthday, we had her party! The theme was “Oh Baby, Go Baby”, her favorite book. We had a great turnout! All of our friends and neighbors came, along with my family, and Adams parents!

Viv with her Nonnie!

Viv with her Meme... It meant so much to have her there. If you know Meme, you know driving across the causeway is a BIG deal. Viv is LOVED!! This woman helped raise me and I'm so thankful Viv gets to have her in her life.

July 4th pictures

2 days after Viv’s party, we set out on a little family vacay to Michigan! It was a LONG 17 hour drive, and Viv did REALLY well! Actually,  I was the cranky one. It was all worth it though. Adam’s Aunt and Uncle have the most beautiful property. It was such a relaxing trip, which we all needed! We rode 4 wheelers, took rafts out in the pond, fished, had bon fires and made s’mores, and just took it easy. One day we drove to this cute German town named Frankenmuth. SUCH a fun little town! We ate at a yummy German restaurant, took a carriage ride and then visited the CHRISTMAS store!!! If you know me, you know that’s like walking straight into Heaven! Over the weekend, we had a family reunion with Adam’s dad’s side on Saturday and then Adam’s mom’s side on Sunday. It was SO awesome to meet all of his extended family.  I didn’t think it possible, but I love his family even more now. So much story telling, laughing and eating! Right up our alley!

Waiting patiently...
Into everything!
